Meet Mike and Wendy Whittle

Wendy & Mike Whittle come from Great Britain, a nation with a long history of an
interest in maps and mapping.  They have lived on Signal Mountain since 1989, when Mike came to the USA to teach medical science at UTC, and to do research on (appropriately enough) human walking!  They both enjoy hiking, and Mike is an enthusiastic GPS user.  On finding that little information was available on the many hiking trails on Signal Mountain, Mike decided to make a series of maps, and to share the information on the World Wide Web.  Mike has now retired from UTC, and Wendy from the English Rose tearoom.  They will be moving back to England at the end of 2005.

The owner of HikingChattanooga.com wishes to thank Mike & Wendy Whittle for their expertise, tenacity and generosity in making these 11 Signal Mountain mapped trails available to all of us hikers in the Chattanooga area. I wish them the very best in their retirement and their return home to England. They have left behind their legacy for all of us to enjoy and utilize. Thank you Mike and Wendy for your contribution.
